In preparation of the Second Ministerial Conference on CRVS in Asia and the Pacific held from 16 to 19 November 2021, ESCAP has prepared a report on the situation of CRVS systems in the region. By celebrating the progresses and highlighting the challenges remaining to achieving universal registration systems, the report aims at shaping the priorities for the second half of the Decade.
The basis of the analysis presented in this report is a questionnaire prepared by the Regional Steering Group for CRVS in Asia and the Pacific and sent to all ESCAP member States and associate members. The questionnaire focused on progress towards implementing the Regional Action Framework. The report consists of five chapters:
This booklet provides context on the Asian and Pacific CRVS Decade, containing the Ministerial Declaration to "Get every one in the picture" and the goals, targets and implementation steps of the Regional Action Framework.
Side events for the Second Ministerial Conference on CRVS in Asia and the Pacific will begin on 25 October 2021. Most events will occur in the two weeks leading up to the Conference with the exception of those events which are linked directly with formal sessions of the Conference. Additionally, included in the list of registered events below is one Ministerial discussion and two Ministerials roundtables to be held during the Conference on 18 and 19 November, respectively.
