ESCAP will convene a regional workshop for countries who received small grants to support national CRVS improvement activities. The technical activities conducted by countries reflected their specific national priorities and were aligned with the Regional Action Framework for CRVS. Participants of the workshop will be representatives of the partner institutions from the 5 countries (Armenia, Bhutan, Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati and the Philippines).
As part of the reporting structure of the Regional Action Framework on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) in Asia and the Pacific, by the end of 2015, members and associate members are required to submit a baseline report to the ESCAP Secretariat through their designated national focal point. This report is the report submitted by Australia.

The Sixth Ministerial Conference of the Bali Process and the International Parliamentary Union both recently passed resolutions on birth registration and CRVS.
Samoa's Government Statistician recently came for a study visit to the Bureau of Registration Administration of Thailand (BORA). On April 5th, staff members of ESCAPs Statistics Division accompanied Mr. Sefuiva R. Muagututia of the Samoan Bureau of Statistics for a meeting with Mr. Suchart Thaneerat, the Deputy Director of the Bureau of Registration Administration and other BORA staff members.
A panel discussion focusing on the important connection between CRVS, Social Development and the Sustainable Developments Goals will be held as a side event to the fourth session of the Committee on Social development. In July 2015, The Dutch National Office for Identity Data organised an "Expert Meeting on Identity Management 2030" in The Hague, during which international experts shared their experience and knowledge of identity management and discussed the future of identity infrastructure. The present summary deals with the outcome of the experts’ meeting.
