As part of the 52nd United Nations Statistical Commission, UNSD is organizing a side event for national statistical offices, international organizations and delegates of Permanent Missions to acquire a more detailed overview of the impact the COVID-19 pandemic has had on the functioning of civil registration and vital statistics worldwide, and more specifically through the lens of the UN Legal Identity Agenda (UN LIA).

The Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development (APFSD) is an annual and inclusive intergovernmental forum and a regional platform for supporting countries, in particular those with special needs, in the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development while serving as a regional preparatory meeting to the high-level political forum.
The EGM was held on 11 and 12 February 2021, 11:00-14:00h (Bangkok times, GMT+7). The meeting was followed at a later date by the Third Webinar on Indirect Demographic Methods for Measuring Completeness and Coverage for Low Capacity Countries.
