Measuring Adult Mortality Community of Practice (MAM-CoP) is organising a webinar on “Verbal autopsies to determine causes of death amongst adults in countries where vital statistics are lacking”.

Understanding causes of death around the world, how this may vary from place to place, or over time, is critical for gauging the global burden of disease and to inform public health policies. Despite a high proportion of premature adult deaths in low-and middle-income countries, little is known about causes of death in these countries, where vital registration systems are weak. This webinar will examine the use of verbal autopsies as a central tool in determining causes of death amongst adults, including where verbal autopsies are most valuable, or where they face limitations.

Time: Thursday 7 March 2024, 10:00 - 11:00 am (GMT/UTC)
