Road related deaths and the need for better CRVS
TAGS

Road traffic accidents and injuries are an important cause of premature deaths in the Pacific Islands, but are often poorly recorded in our cause of death data. Global Road Safety Week in May provides an important opportunity for governments and agencies in the Pacific to highlight not only the importance of reducing preventable traffic-related deaths, but also to evaluate how to improve our data collection to better monitor progress towards target 3.5 of the Sustainable Development Goals: By 2020, halve the number of global deaths and injuries from road traffic accidents.

The Brisbane Accord Group has developed this information brief for further information on the topic.
