The Maldives government has selected a Thailand-based company to develop a comprehensive digital identification system.  The new system will integrate civil registration, vital statistics, and identification management to improve the accuracy and efficiency of these crucial processes.

This initiative is expected to enhance public service delivery and support the country's broader digital transformation goals.  The system will streamline the registration of births, deaths, and other vital events, ensuring all citizens have access to legal identity documents.  The project is a key component of the Maldives' strategy to modernize public administration and improve the accessibility and reliability of essential services.
