The South Korean AD STARS, an awards platform and innovation hub for Asian businesses, awarded Telenor Pakistan a Gold Star Award for 2020 for its work on the Digital Birth Registration Initiative. Through a rigorous screening conducted by 184 judges, only 1,651 entries made it to the shortlist out of a total of 20,028 entries that came in from around the world from 57 Countries. While there were submissions from thousands of brands, the human rights category was very hotly contested and Pakistan's work on birth registration was recognized among the likes of CocaCola, Mastercard, Digi Malaysia, Red Cross, Walt Disney, Mondelez, WWF, and others.
