The Sub-regional Asian workshop on applying principles and recommendations for implementing the Regional Action Framework for strengthening CRVS was jointly hosted by the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) and ESCAP in Istanbul, Turkey from 15 to 18 September. The Workshop sought to strengthen technical capacity and increase the knowledge of government statisticians and civil registration officials about the revised international principles and recommendations for compiling, processing and disseminating vital statistics.
