Expert Group Meeting to validate the manual for the training-of-trainers and Inter-regional seminar to discuss best practices on CRVS

This event holds both an Expert Group Meeting and a Interregional Seminar Back-to-back:

The objective of the Expert Group Meeting (EGM) is to serve as a formal peer review of the training-of-trainers manual drafted by ESCAP and ECA to support the production of vital statistics from civil registration records. During the EGM, inputs and feedback on the content and structure of the manual will be collected from the participants and the strategy for testing the manual and subsequent application by countries for capacity building will be developed. The Expert Group will also review and validate a template and guidelines for the development of Vital Statistics Report produced by Statistics Norway in collaboration with both the regional commissions.

The objective of the Interregional seminar is to exchange and discuss the best practices around CRVS from Africa and Asia. The expected outcome of the meeting is identifying common challenges in the improvement of CRVS in both regions and various strategies adopted by countries in their successful mitigation.
