The consultation on CRVS inequality assessment in Indonesia

Event Details

From October 29-30, 2024, a two-day workshop will be held in Bandung and will follow by a consultation meeting with mid-level stakeholders on November 1, 2024, in Jakarta, Indonesia. The Bandung workshop will focus on presenting the findings from an in-depth inequality assessment within the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) system. The primary objective is to translate these findings into actionable policy recommendations to enhance the completeness of birth and death registrations. ESCAP staff, along with a local consultant, will facilitate discussions on how these recommendations could be tailored to help policymakers address registration gaps while ensuring the proposals are well-suited to the Indonesian context.

Following the workshop, a consultation meeting in Jakarta to gather mid-level stakeholders from various government agencies. This session will serve as a platform to refine the recommendations and validate the findings to be shared during the workshop. Participants will provide valuable feedback, ensuring the proposed policies are both data-driven and practical, aligning with Indonesia’s broader development goals.
