2025 review of CRVS progress in Asia and the Pacific

Members and Associate Members of ESCAP are currently undertaking a review of their progress since the inception of the Asia Pacific CRVS Decade in 2014. A questionnaire has been distributed to National CRVS focal points and should be returned to ESCAP by 15 September.

Civil Registration and Vital Statistics Inequality Assessments

The Ministerial Declaration on CRVS in Asia and the Pacific emphasizes the need to address CRVS inequalities among hard-to-reach and marginalized populations, promoting universality and equity in civil registration regardless of factors such as gender, religion, or ethnicity. Countries are encouraged to conduct assessments to assess where such inequalities may exist.

Samoa's Government Statistician visits the Thai Bureau of Registration Administration (BORA)

Samoa's Government Statistician recently came for a study visit to the Bureau of Registration Administration of Thailand (BORA). On April 5th, staff members of ESCAPs Statistics Division accompanied Mr. Sefuiva R. Muagututia of the Samoan Bureau of Statistics for a meeting with Mr. Suchart Thaneerat, the Deputy Director of the Bureau of Registration Administration and other BORA staff members.

Leave No One Behind: The importance of CRVS for Social Development and the 2030 Agenda

A panel discussion focusing on the important connection between CRVS, Social Development and the Sustainable Developments Goals will be held as a side event to the fourth session of the Committee on Social development.
