    The Ministerial Declaration on CRVS in Asia and the Pacific emphasizes the need to address CRVS inequalities among hard-to-reach and marginalized populations, promoting universality and equity in civil registration regardless of factors such as gender, religion, or ethnicity. Countries are encouraged to conduct assessments to assess where such inequalities may exist.

Consultation on Draft Policy for Data Use and Data Sharing

As healthcare challenges continue to mount worldwide, effective data use and sharing is imperative. In support of health information sharing as a public good, WHO and it’s Director-General’s office is working to finalize a Policy on Use and Sharing of Data Collected in Member States by the WHO Outside the Context of Public Health Emergencies. The document sets out a systematic and comprehensive approach to data use and data sharing.

Boosting birth registration in Pakistan with mobile phones

UNICEF has been working with the Departments of Local Government and Health, the National Data Base Registration Authority (NADRA) and the mobile telecom network operator Telenor to register every child in the province of Sindh. In the past, the birth registration process was notoriously cumbersome and time-consuming, so many parents opted to leave their children unregistered. Some parents were also unaware of the benefits of birth registration. However this year, the innovative pilot project for birth registration through mobile phones has made the entire process easy and efficient.
