The Second Ministerial Conference on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in Asia and the Pacific will occur in Bangkok, Thailand from 6-9 October 2020. Delegations will comprise heads of government, as well as ministers of interior, health, civil registration, statistics, justice, planning and national ID. Senior representatives from partner organizations, non-governmental organizations and civil society will attend, along with the media who will be invited to cover the event.
The Conference will have a three-day, senior officials segment followed by a one-day, ministerial segment. Additional exhibitions and side-events will run concurrent with the Second Ministerial Conference. A civil society forum will also precede the Conference from 4-5 October 2020.
The Conference is expected to produce an outcome document in the form of a Ministerial Declaration taking stock of the progress made halfway through the CRVS Decade (2015-2024), identifying outstanding challenges, and promoting ways to accelerate progress toward achieving the CRVS Decade goals and targets.
