    The Ministerial Declaration on CRVS in Asia and the Pacific emphasizes the need to address CRVS inequalities among hard-to-reach and marginalized populations, promoting universality and equity in civil registration regardless of factors such as gender, religion, or ethnicity. Countries are encouraged to conduct assessments to assess where such inequalities may exist.

Launch of the Assessment, Analysis & Redesign of Civil Registration & Vital Statistics (CRVS) Processes and the Use of CRVS-Related Evidence to Inform Gender-Sensitive Policies in Fiji

The Government of Fiji in collaboration with the ESCAP, with the ambition of getting everyone in the picture, has completed the analysis and redesign of its CRVS processes. Moreover, CRVS-related data and evidence in Fiji has been analyzed to understand key issues of interest towards gender-sensitive policy recommendations (or Evidence to Action).

Training workshop to enhance understanding and reporting of inequalities in civil registration of births and deaths in the Kingdom, Bhutan

This intensive training program from 24 September to 3 October 2024 in Paro, Bhutan is based on Inequality Assessment project, organized by ESCAP in cooperation with National Statistics Bureau of Bhutan.

Putting Data and Evidence into Action: An Intersectional Profile of Adolescent Pregnancy and Motherhood in Fiji

This policy brief was developed as part of an ESCAP-led project on ‘Using CRVS-related evidence to inform gender-sensitive policies’ or Evidence-to-Action (E2A) and is the outcome of a series of in-country consultations and a national workshop held in Fiji in September 2023 involving national stakeholders and development partners.
