Second National Capacity Building Workshop for the Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) Inequality Assessment Project, 23-25 January 2024, at Sequoia Hotel Quezon City, in Philippines.
The closing workshop will bring together a variety of stakeholders engaged in the Bangladesh CRVS system. Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) will present and share findings in inequalities in birth registration from the first and second national capacity building workshops. Stakeholders will have the opportunity to discuss the findings, ask questions, as well as discuss policy implications and next steps to ensure disparities in registration are addressed.
The Central Bureau of Health Intelligence (CBHI) in the Directorate Health of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family welfare, Government of India, hosted a 2-day workshop to hail the start of India’s transition from International Classification of Diseases 10th Revision (ICD-10) to International Classification of Diseases 11th Revision (ICD-11).

Using the methodology and tools defined by the CRVS Systems Improvement Framework, the national CRVS Stakeholders (supported by a Country Coordinator and a Senior Advisor) gathered information about the birth and death registration process and the production of vital statistics. They identified weaknesses and proposed solutions to address performance issues with current CRVS processes through online consultations and in-person workshops.
